How to promote Sockbaby 4!
You can download a high definition copy of the trailer right here.

Then take that and recompress it or whatever you have to do to upload it to every file and media sharing website on the entire internet!
You can also just repost this if you like. . . but that's the boring way to do it.

Ladies and Gentlemen, this is Justin Spurlock!!!

So John is on a very fruitful trip, going to San Francisco for some business, then Santa Cruz to see the Beames, then Arizona for more Davey Proton goodness.

I'm editing many things for the website to come.  Also we're gearing up for Comic Con.  We'll be showing "Tyrants of Nazca".  WOOT!

The website will be getting a big overhaul soon, so be patient with us.  Talk at you soon.

Justin

"Battle Jitni and the Gauntlet of Sorrow" makes it's public premiere on June 13th at St. Stan's Brewery/Heroes Sports Bar in Modesto at 9pm! Be there!

Chapter 2 of the Ben Beames series, "The Tyrants of Nazca" is now online. It's beautiful. Check it out. Special thanks to Saint Anthony's Parish in Hughson for allowing us to film inside the church.

About two years ago or something, WestHavenBrook teamed up with BadKarma Productions on a strange project called "Crumbersome Munch". Justin decided to edit it...you must watch it!

John

05/23/07

Don't forget that Gauntlet of Sorrow is done and you can watch it HERE!

I came home about an hour ago from shooting a scene of "Tyrants of Nazca". Its 2:30 in the morning and we started at about 8pm and I still wish I could do this for a living. It was one of the most complicated shoots I have been a part of and if you have ever seen some of the stuff we have made, I have been on one or two pretty complicated shoots. It's a dramatic dialogue sequence (which is something a little new for me but I'm having fun stepping into some new shoes.) Ben's compositions and lighting always play a huge part and take as long or longer to set up than the actual acting part of things (though we rehearsed the whole thing a week ago without cameras and that was a huge help.)

A little known fact about WestHavenBrook is that we shoot a lot of stuff. A LOT. Our friend Doug TenNapel once said "they have rolled more tape than a lot of professionals that are actually in the business". But I think even he might be shocked by the truth. And that truth is that we actually have a  vault's worth of raw footage for short films we have shot since 2001. It's true, we have shot so many shorts, improvised and otherwise, that we actually have them backed up and waiting to be edited. Justin has taken it upon himself to sift through the madness of our raw footage archive and start finishing these films. He has started with a film that I wrote and we filmed six years ago along with another film we produced with BadKarma about 2 years ago. All I can say is, I have see what is finished of them and they are hilarious. One of them made me sob with laughter. SOB!

Flying to Phoenix in a few hours.
Feel free to send envelopes of cash to my house.

John

New video update! Click here to check it out.

04/05/07

Hello, this is John. I am currently in Phoenix shooting Davey Proton 2
(and 3 and 4) Things are going great here. I am having a blast. Phoenix
is a cool town even though I haven't seen much of it on this trip. I
think I must associate the freedom from too much responsibility and the
good company of artists with the quality of living in this city.

Uriel Padilla, an old friend of mine from Hughson who now lives in
Phoenix, started in this movie stuff as a martial art stunt guy in my
crazy action movies and he is now the cinematographer on Dave Proton 2
for Eric. Its pretty killer because I think it suits his skills as a
photographer.

In my off time here, which today is all day, I have been working on the
Screenplay for Westhavenbrook's first feature film. Why can't I live
like this every week?

I finally got to read Ethan (Eef) Nicolle's book, "The Weevil" and it
is awesome. I want to direct the movie. You really need to pick up a
copy.

When I get back to Hughson, (or at least the day after I get back) I am
going to make a few more alterations to Gauntlet of Sorrow before its
release. Valerie Hochberg did a funny bit of animation for me and I
will be slipping that in there as well as a few other minor adjustments
per some carefully weighed advise from Douglas TenNapel and Justin
Spurlock. It should only be a matter of days from that point until its
online for all of you to see. I have a date in mind, but I am not going
to say what it is just yet in case I miss it by a day or two.

That's all for now. Enjoy your stay.

john
